Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C., is a television anchor. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell began as reporter for TV and radio at the time in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. She joined the CBS subsidiary WDVM-TV (then WTOP) in Washington DC in 1976. In the following two years, she became general correspondent for NBC News in Washington. In 1981 began covering the White House and became chief Congress correspondent in 1988. In 1992, she was made Chief White House Correspondent and in 1994 was appointed chief foreign affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell was a guest at times on TV news program Meet the Press as a panelist as well as host. She was on the panel in 1988's presidential debates, which pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the wife of Alan Greenspan who was the former chairman for Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received the Goldsmith Career Award in 2005 by the John F. Kennedy School of Government for her outstanding performance in the field of journalism. In 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association gave Mitchell the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her efforts to protect First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell first covered for the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988 throughout both Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell covered a broad range of interesting stories including the Iran-contra case and tax reform. She traveled alongside Ronald Reagan on numerous trips to international summits, and also reported often.
